It all began in 1999 with the idea of customizing my brand new Isuzu Vehicross. At the time, I was a designer and model maker at IDEO. Utilizing my skills in craftsmanship, reverse engineering, CAD, and technical machining, and a local vacuum forming vendor, I took advantage of the opportunity in creating something special. My initial front skid plate was a proof of concept project that, despite its rough edges, took pride in my first creation. Soon after, the Vehicross community caught wind of my work and demanded duplicates. However, the thought of re-creating another was not something I was considering at the time.  After years of other owners hounding me, I decided to explore my options of producing a quicker and  refined version of the product.

The designs were inspired by Isuzu's prototype convertible Vehicross (VX-O2) from the early 2000s. While they enhance the style and of your VX, they also offer minimal protection for light off-road use. All skid plates are crafted from vacuum-formed 1/4" black ABS plastic, hand-finished, and coated with automotive grey primer for painting.  After the first front skidplate duplicate was created and sold, everything else blossomed from that point.  During the years, I ventured into designing parts for the Pontiac Solstice and sold the VX.  After a while I missed the VX and eventually sold the Solstice and purchased another VX.  Soon after I revived the VX accessories and expanded the product line over time.  

As a car enthusiast, I have always been fascinated with automotive design. Aftershock Products (aka Vehicross Concepts) emerged from the passion for the Vehicross and Kappa communities, offering products tailored for these unique vehicles, catering to owners looking to elevate their rides to another level.  Thank you for your years of support and enthusiasm that keeps the dreams alive and me creating cool stuff! -Rudy
